Jodi Crabtree and Alex Cox, graduate students in the Digital Media Concentration in Technology, snagged the award for ETSU for “Research and Practical Application” in the 3rd Annual Student Showcase at the 2009 International Digital Media Arts Association (IDMAA) Conference. This year’s conference was held at Ball State University, Muncie, IN, and the students presented their graduate research projects to attendees at the Showcase opening on November 5.
Among the seven institutions competing, two were selected for special recognition by the IDMAA Board of Directors. The other winning college was Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, CA, for “Innovation.”
The Student Showcase is intended to showcase digital media programs in universities and colleges, and features student work that is selected by faculty in the participating institutions as being excellent examples of innovation, creativity, and exploration that pushes the boundaries of our discipline. Each year, IDMAA gives recognition to those institutions that, by the strength of their student’s work, demonstrate program excellence.
