To his great surprise, Marty finds himself teaching at ETSU’s Digital Media Center after spending 15 years working in the San Francisco area. He earned two music degrees and owned Pixelworks, Inc., a graphics and animation house, for 12 years. Marty also taught at the Academy of Art in San Francisco. When not stuck in front of a screen, he co-exists as an ultra runner and in 2001 hiked all 2700 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail. When he is stuck in front of a screen, he produces work like the stuff below.

This piece for ETSU was shot with a Red Scarlet-X, and edited and color corrected in Premiere.

This piece combines some work with a DSLR shooting video and a Sony EX-1. Also a bit of compositing, color correction.

Over the summer Marty worked on a :60 spot for the University about their 100-year anniversary. Lots of editing, cloth simulation, and a bit of compositing involved.

Over the Christmas break he provided some graphics, animation, editing, and color correction for ETSU’s new basketball show on WJHL. You can see the results here.

Marty created the video for the 2009 Fall Faculty Convocation. It had lots of graphics in it with 3D animation, instancing, matchmoving, and a lot of compositing:

This piece was also done for ETSU and features mostly After Effects, with just a bit of 3D. The excellent voices are all ETSU folks (Angela Lewis, Herbert Parker, and Karen Sabo). The music is Marty’s as well.

This was an opener for the ETSU sports show on Fox College Sports Network, also local on WJHL. It features a lot of athletes, coaches, green screen, 3D and compositing.
