This semester a group of ETSU students attended the 2011 Game Developer’s Conference in sunny San Francisco, California. During their 5-day stay, they attended a variety of tutorial sessions, workshops, and panels hosted by industry professionals. In addition to the wealth of information offered from the 400+ different topics, the students also attended the 13th Annual Independent Games Festival and the 11th Annual Game Developers Choice Awards. With over 50+ companies actively hiring from the GDC career pavilion, it was thrilling for students to speak with professionals from companies such as Bethesda, Valve, High Voltage, N-Space, and Activision.
GDC serves as a port of call for game developers big and small. The 25th anniversary of the conference was the biggest yet, with a record-shattering 19,000 attendees packed into the San Francisco Moscone Center from February 28th to March 4th. GDC will return in 2012 from March 5th to March 9th!
